What is Your Solar Patch?

I've been reading a lot about protecting my Solar Patch? What is a Solar Patch, and how do I protect it? Barbara Collins, via email.

A Solar Patch is unique to each individual. On both men and women, the Solar Patch is the unique area, on their crown, that is most exposed to direct sun. If you are a redhead, fair, thin-haired, have a high forehead, or balding, you should consider keeping your personal Solar Patch covered whenever in the sun. Dark-haired people can also benefit from protecting their individual Solar Patch as well.

The easiest ways to protect your Solar Patch is by covering your head, or applying sunblock.

When you're not in the mood to cover your head, consider using some kind of sunscreen to protect your individual Solar Patch – Sundition makes a great sunscreen, in a spray pump. I buy the 2.5 oz spray pump in bulk, for convenience and savings. I'll put a bottle where it's likely to be used; in the car, purse, next to the moisturizer, etc.

You will find Sundition sun screen http://www.sundition.com/?click=18 is formulated specifically to protect both your hair and your Solar Patch. Good luck protecting your Solar Patch Barbara!

  2. Great point! Some of us have bigger Solar Patches than others, more like Solar Parcels... I have flakey skin on my scalp, ears and neck from years of outdoor activities such as golf. Now, under the advisement of my dermatologist and the research I've done on the internet, I will be sure to use sunscreen on my scalp whenever I plan to spend any time in the sun. Thanks Sunny Burns!

  3. I like to snowboard, and last winter, my face got burnt really bad because I neglected to put on sunscreen. I'm sure I'm not alone on this. Most people think that sunscreen should only be used in the summertime. However, I learned the hard way that it should be used year-round whenever you are outdoors. Anyways, I was wondering if Sundition can be used on your face. And, what happens if you get it in your eyes by accident? Will you instantly go blind?

  4. Van, Yes! SUNdition can be used on your face, neck, ears, and scalp when you are snowboarding. SUNdition is formulated to resist sweating, so it should not run in your eyes. I don't recommend anyone doing a blindness test however! Just close your eyes and spray it directly on any skin exposed to the direct sun. If you are nervous, spray your fingers and massage the SUNdition on with your finger tips. Let me know how the SUNdition works for you. If you haven't done so already, go online and get the promotional bottles that are on sale for only $4.95 each. That's a great deal!

  5. David, so glad you are following your dermatologist's advice. Please don't think you can only use the SUNdition on your scalp. You can use this product on any area of skin that is exposed to direct sun.

Sounds like you spend a lot of time outside enjoying yourself. You might consider using SUNdition as part of your daily grooming routine. And, leave a small, 2.5 oz spray bottle in your golf bag. This way, if your buddies call for a last-minute golf game, you'll be ready! SUNBLOCK, DON'T LEAVE HOME WITHOUT IT!

  6. Thanks for the tip Jacquero, it's hard to find a good sunscreen let alone one that comes in a convenient travel size and at such great price. I may have to buy a few bottles for my buddies too. I am concerned about one thing though. Of all the sunscreens I've used on my head, they have all been greasy even when they say right on the bottle they aren't. What can I expect from Sundition?

  7. Well I don't really have a Solar Patch but i do have a Solar Part. I often put my long hair up into either a pony tail or braid to prevent it from blowing in my face when I go outside. And because of this I always burn my part! OUCH!!! And after trying out all of those other nasty, greasy sunscreens on the market I would just end up with a nasty, greasy stripe in my hair at the end of the day! But thanks to you - have have tried SUNdition and absolutely LOVE IT! I do not leave home without spraying it into my part, all over my face and what ever other body part is exposed! I don't even let me kids step foot out the door without spraying them down with SUNdition first. And we have never had a problem with it getting into their eyes and burning. Thank you for introducing me to this wonderful product!!!

  8. We'll David, just as Carol does, I spray the SUNdition directly into the part in my hair. I nave not found it to be greasy at all. As a matter of fact, it has a nourishing leave-in conditioner, that includes Ginkgo, Green Tea, and Natural Antioxidants. The SUNdition will actually revitalize your skin and scalp after a day in the sun. What other sunscreen does that?!

  9. All I can say is WOW! I ordered some Sundition with the intention of only using it as a scalp sunscreen through my thinning hair, but I was pleasantly surprised when I found it worked quite well on my face, ears, neck and everywhere else I sprayed it. What a great find! A sunscreen that can be used from head to toe, that's not heavy on the skin or greasy, is definately the sunscreen for me!

  10. I have to agree with James. I don't always like to wear a cap while golfing, and the SUNdition keeps this bald head from burning. Did you get the handy 2 oz bottle? It's the perfect size for carrying in your golf bag. Good thing I ordered a couple bottles. My wife likes to carry one in her purse too!
